Course Objectives

• To provide fundamental knowledge of energy resources, environmental impacts, and sustainability principles.

Full Unit-wise Syllabus

Unit I – Energy Concepts for Sustainability

Overview of renewable and non-renewable energy resources, energy forms, units, and life cycle concepts - Global and Indian energy scenarios, sustainability indicators, strategies, and resource management policies.

Activities: - Poster presentation on forms of energy and their life cycle.

Unit II – Energy–Environment Interface

Environmental impacts of energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, climate change mitigation and adaptation. Sustainable Development Goals, energy policies, carbon footprint, and emerging issues in energy access and economics.

Activities: – Reproduction of research paper on Carbon Footprint

Unit III – Sustainable Energy Practices

Sustainable habitats, green buildings, energy efficiency, and renewable energy technologies - Energy transition, carbon cycle, storage technologies.

Activities: – Field visit/ Case Study on Green Building or Sustainable Campus.
