Course Objectives
- To make the students to understand design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies, integrating databases, APIs, and deployment pipelines.
Full Unit-wise Syllabus
Unit I – Introduction
Front-end, back-end, and DevOps. VS Code, Git, browsers, and developer consoles – HTML5, CSS3 Box model, Flexbox, Grid, and responsive design, CSS preprocessors, JavaScript, DOM manipulation, BOM, OOP, ES6+ features, Event handling and asynchronous programming APIs, Testing, Deployment.
Practical: Creation of responsive landing page with HTML and CSS, style the page using Flexbox and Grid and push it to GitHub; Creation of an interactive to-do list using JavaScript and data fetching using JSONPlaceholder.
Unit II – Front End Development
Introduction to React, Components and Props, state and lifecycle, Event Handling and Forms, Routing with react router, Advance React Concepts, State Management with Redux, Styling in React, Testing and Debugging, Deployment and Build tools.
Practical: Hello React App and Counter App; Multi-Page Navigation and CRUD App with LocalStorage.
Unit III – Back End Development
Node.js, Node.js modules, and NPM, Asynchronous Programming, File System and Streams, Building web server, Express.js framework – REST API. Databases Integration with MongoDB and MySQL, Performing CRUD operation, Authentication and Security, Testing and Debugging.
Practical: Creation of Node.js application and Express.js Framework; File Upload & Handling and Sending Emails and Notifications.
Unit IV – Spring Boot
IntelliJ IDEA, Spring Boot – REST API – Spring Data JPA and Hibernate, CRUD operation with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and H2 Embedded database. Building RESTful APIs (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE), Swagger/OpenAPI, Security and Authentication – Spring Security, JWT.
Practical: Creation of Spring boot application and use @Component, @Service, and @Repository, Inject dependencies with @Autowired; Creation of Spring boot application to Connect to an H2/MySQL/PostgreSQL database and JPA entities with annotations.
Unit V – Full Stack Integration
React.js with Node.js and React.js with Spring Boot. Microservices Architecture – Spring Cloud, Eureka, Messaging and Asynchronous Communication – Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ, JUnit and Mockito, Spring Boot Test, deployment and DevOps – JARs or WARs, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP, Jenkins CI/CD pipelines. Monitoring and Performance – Spring Boot Actuator.
Practical: Creation of two microservices using Node.JS and Spring Boot respectively and make the communication between these applications; Build GraphQL API with Spring Boot, Use Kafka/RabbitMQ for messaging, Create microservices with Spring Cloud.
Unit VI – Capstone Project
Implement E-Commerce application, Event/Message Broker Service using Spring Boot – Spring Data JPA – Spring Security + JWT – Spring Cloud Eureka – Spring Cloud Gateway as API Gateway, Spring Cloud Config – centralized config, RabbitMQ/Kafka – MySQL/PostgreSQL – primary data stores.

- CO3: Evaluate web development frameworks, tools, and architectures to assess their performance, for different application requirements.

- CO5: Adapt emerging technologies through continuous self-learning to develop and enhance modern web applications.
