Course Objectives

  • To enable students to develop practical knowledge of crushing equipment and mechanical separation processes, and to experimentally analyze fluid flow systems including calibration of flow meters, pressure drop, and pump characteristics.

  • CO1: Apply the principles and experimental methods involved in fluid flow and solid handling operations during laboratory investigations.
  • CO2: Analyze experimental data from fluid and solid operations to determine flow behaviour, particle dynamics, and process parameters.
  • CO3: Evaluate the performance of fluid and solid processing equipment with respect to efficiency accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
  • CO4: Design and conduct experiments by applying fluid flow and solid operation principles to solve practical engineering problems.
