Course Objectives

  • To be familiar with the structure of basic electronic devices.
  • To be exposed to the operation and application of electronic devices and their circuits.
  • To analyze circuit characteristics with signal analysis using Op-amp.

  • Introduction to circuit simulation package by: i) PN junction characteristics ii) Transistor (CE conf) characteristics iii) JFET characteristics.
  • Frequency response of transistor amplifier circuit.
  • Line and load regulation of Zener Diode
  • UJT – relaxation oscillator circuit
  • Wien bridge oscillator
  • Transistorized Differential amplifier
  • Design a clipper circuit
  • Design a clamper circuit
  • Design of half wave rectifier circuit
  • Design of full wave rectifier circuit
  • Design of voltage regulator circuit

Course Outcomes (COs)

  • CO1: Conduct experiments to study the characteristics and behavior of basic electronic devices like diodes, BJTs and JFETs.
  • CO2: Analyze and design transistor amplifier circuits, Zener regulator circuits, and oscillator circuits including UJT Wien bridge, and 555 timer based circuits.
  • CO3: Design and implement operational amplifier circuits such as inverting, non inverting, differential instrumentation amplifiers, and precision rectifier/clipper circuits.
